Comic strip

 Today I watched a quick short film with no talking in it. After watching it I had to do a comic strip and narrate what they were doing. This task was quite difficult because they dont speak but it was also quiet enjoyable!

The truth about honesty

Recently one of my tasks in class was to do a activity on the truth of honesty. There were different scenarios and I had to write what I would do in that situation. Here was the activity. 

Huia Timeline

 This week during lock down I have been learning about Huias. This research was very interesting and I learnt heaps about them! Here is my timeline.

Limerick

 In my class we have been learning how to write limerick poems. At first I found this really challenging but then I kinda got the hang of it. In a limerick poem it has 5 lines. Line 1,2 and 5 have 7-10 syllables and line 3 and 4 should have 5-7 syllables. The first line of a limerick poem usually is "There once was a". Also in a limerick poem the first 2 lines rhyme an then the two after that need to be quite random and they need to rhyme with each other. then the last line needs to rhyme with the first line.

Jean Batten

 In my class I have been learning about Jean Batten. Me and Kyah have created this slideshow all about her! Have you ever heard of Jean Batten? 

Chapter 1 activity

 In my class my teacher has started reading us the boy in the striped pyjamas. We are so far at chapter 1 and we had to do this activity about chapter 1 here is mine. Enjoy

My avatar painting

                                    This week I have created this (interesting looking) piece of art.

Before I did my painting I went onto faceyourmanga.com and I created an avatar that looks something like me. After I made my avatar I got lines ruled up on a a3 piece of paper and then we had our avatar printed out. And then for the hard part! I had to draw my avatar out on the paper but to make it harder I had to make it an enlargement from my printed out avatar. So you had to make sure that you drew it inside the right squares. Then we had to move on to the painting part of it! The painting was pretty fun apart from the struggle to make the perfect hair colour. I finished my painting with a few ups and downs and as you can see art is definitely not my sweet spot.

Plant sketching

Last Friday I drew a few leaves of a Rimu tree. Here is the actual leaves and here is my drawing!

I also wrote a description and Identification in my book. This is what I wrote.
Description:This plant is a light green colour and it has sharp leaves that point upwards. This plant is the king of the forest and it is very common in the NZ bush.

Identification: This plant is called a Rimu and my drawing is only of a few leaves. Rimu is a large tree that grows up to 50m tall. Rimu trees grow very slowly reaching 800-900 years old. Rimu trees have very droopy leaves. The trunks of the Rimu trees are very thick and the bark is a red colour.

At my school from now on every Monday we have INTERCHANGE!!!

Our interchange classes are New Zealand history with Mrs Prendergast,Geography with Miss Hines and Science with Miss Power.

This week on Monday in New Zealand history we watched a interesting video about who first discovered NZ. In Geography we had to name all of the continents that make up the world and also circle all of those continents on a map. Lastly in science we did a experiment called spinning water and you had to grab a cup tie string on the sides fill it half way with water an spin it around and I was kinda surprised because the water actually stayed in the cup. "WOW"
