Book week

 This week at my school we had book week. Book week is a fun week where 5 golden tickets are hidden around the school and in the library there is a jar full of gummy worms and you can guess how many there are. Today was book character day which is when everybody dresses up as a character from a book. Me and my friends did a Alice in Wonderland theme costumes. I was Alice. This week we also had wacky waka Wednesday. For wacky waka Wednesday you dress up in your wackiest outfit but you have to dress in your waka colour. Mine is yellow. On Tuesday Mrs Costello the school librarian did a book giveaway and you could go to the library and get as many books as you wanted. Also as a part of the book week tradition you and your class have to create a cool designed door. Our theme was Peter Pan. After the doors are all finished they get judged. My classes door display won second place for team b. Here are some pictures. 

Chapter 1 activity

 In my class my teacher has started reading us the boy in the striped pyjamas. We are so far at chapter 1 and we had to do this activity about chapter 1 here is mine. Enjoy

My novel bookmark

 A few days ago my class had to go into our school library and pick out a novel that we would like to individually read.  I choose the book the enchanted wood by Enid Blyton. We have a whole list of different activities to do that involve our story. This was one of the activities. I had to design a book mark that had somthing to do with my book. My book has a forest in it so I did forest things on mine. Here is the book mark. (It has been printed out and it is getting laminated)

Fantastic Mr Fox (Is it wrong for him to Steal?)

The One and Only Ivan Prediction Poem

WALT make predictions to help us understand what we read.

We got the words from the chapter headings in the chapters of the One and only Ivan book. Then we cut out the words that we thought was right for the poem. We haven't read the book yet so we had to guess what the book is about and write what we think about Ivan. My group thought that he was quite lonely.
