 In my class we have been doing kiwiana art inspired by Dick Frizzell. Me and Kyah made this google slide with information about Dick Frizzell. I found this activity interesting because I had never heard of Dick Frizzell so I learnt alot.

Plant sketching

Last Friday I drew a few leaves of a Rimu tree. Here is the actual leaves and here is my drawing!

I also wrote a description and Identification in my book. This is what I wrote.
Description:This plant is a light green colour and it has sharp leaves that point upwards. This plant is the king of the forest and it is very common in the NZ bush.

Identification: This plant is called a Rimu and my drawing is only of a few leaves. Rimu is a large tree that grows up to 50m tall. Rimu trees grow very slowly reaching 800-900 years old. Rimu trees have very droopy leaves. The trunks of the Rimu trees are very thick and the bark is a red colour.

Anzac lantern

This is my Anzac lantern that I made.I made this because it is Anzac day tomorrow and it was also something I had to do for school.I really enjoyed making this lantern because I am usually on my Chromebook doing school work almost all day and it was nice to do some art and be creative and get away from my Chromebook for a bit.

Sumo Paint ANZAC poppy

This is my Poppy that I created using sumo paint.I found this activity hard to do because i kept mucking it up and then fixing it and then mucking it up again.I am kind of happy with how the poppy turned out but I feel like I could do better.I hope you enjoy it.

The Legend of Kupe

For this activity we had to recreate the Moari legend of Kupe .A maori legend about Kupe sailing in a canoe all the way from Hawaiiki to New Zealand with his wife and his family.
