A few weeks ago I had to watch three short films about different things. The first one was about a giant dinosaur,The other one was about some sort of video game thing and the last one was about these two men walking up a big mountain. We had to pick one of them and write a story about it. I chose the one of the men climbing up the mountain. Here is my story.

Plant sketching
Last Friday I drew a few leaves of a Rimu tree. Here is the actual leaves and here is my drawing!
I also wrote a description and Identification in my book. This is what I wrote.
Description:This plant is a light green colour and it has sharp leaves that point upwards. This plant is the king of the forest and it is very common in the NZ bush.
Identification: This plant is called a Rimu and my drawing is only of a few leaves. Rimu is a large tree that grows up to 50m tall. Rimu trees grow very slowly reaching 800-900 years old. Rimu trees have very droopy leaves. The trunks of the Rimu trees are very thick and the bark is a red colour.

Giraffe Writing
| W.A.L.T Write descriptive sentences. This week in Mamaku 2 we had to write a story and use a picture to write about. This was the picture that Mrs P gave us. It is a little girl taking a giraffe for a walk. In the story we had to describe what the giraffe looked like and where the little girl was taking the giraffe. I enjoyed this activity and think that I included some good description. My next step learning goal for writing is to organise my ideas into paragraphs. |
