Christmas Trends
For the 12 days of Christmas I have to do a task each day. Today's task was to google what were the most popular Christmas gifts in different years. I chose six different toys and I put them in order of what I would prefer to get for Christmas. For Christmas I would prefer a Tamagotchi then a Beanie Baby Then Cabbage Patch Kids then Zhu Zhu pets then Teddy Ruxpin and lastly a Bratz Doll.

Prep diary
This is my prep diary for prep 2020. If you dont know what prep is look at my recent post. -Enjoy
Prep explanation
At my school we have this thing called prep. Prep is two weeks long. In prep you have to apply for jobs such as Own venture (In own venture you are in a group making products and you can either be CEO, Secretary,Treasurer and workers.) ,Banker (In the bank you write in pay in the bank books and pay people) ,Warehouse(Only year 7 and 8s can apply) (In the warehouse you fill out order forms and supply them with their items they need to make their products.) ,Police (Only year 8s can apply for police) (In police you walk around the classes checking on the things that people are making and they can give people a bonus pay if they think they are working hard.) and advertising agency (Advertising agency takes photos of your products and they advertise them. To apply for jobs you write a letter and then you send it to the person who is in charge of the job you applied for. After you have applied for the job you will get an email saying if you got the job or not. Heaps of people don't get accepted and they just end up working in a group creating a business. If you are in a business you have to make products. Here are some examples of products people made at prep 2020. Stickers,Glitter Jars,Christmas Tree decorations,Chalk and etc. In prep we have two markets, Big market and Little market. We have markets so that the groups can actually earn profit. Selling in little market is optional because some groups may not have enough products to sell. Selling at a market costs prep money (The prep currency is called Taniwhas.). Big market is compulsory because that is where you make heaps of money. Prep is now over and everyone is now going back to doing school work. I very much enjoyed prep this year because it was my first time not working in a business. I worked in the warehouse this year and it was my first time.

My Snoopy Enlargement
A few weeks ago my class had to draw enlargements. First my teacher sent me a grid with lots of squares and we had to find a picture and place it on top of the grid. Most of my class chose cartoon characters and I did too. The character I chose was SNOOPY!!!! After placing our picture over the grid our grid got printed out and we got given a large piece of paper to draw squares 4 centimetres by 4 centimetres. Drawing on the squares was kind of a long process but once I had done that I got to start drawing Snoopy. We had to try and replicate the picture as best as we could. I enlarged my picture by a scale factor of 2. In my opinion my Snoopy came out pretty good. This task was very fun and I enjoyed it because it wasn't to hard because I picked a simple picture and character to draw.

Valerie Adams has a barbie doll made after her!
New Zealand Shot putter professional Valerie Adams has now gt a Barbie doll made after her.
The reason Valerie Adams has a barbie doll made after her is because she was chosen as New Zealand's barbie role model for 2020.
Valerie Adams is the second woman in New Zealand to become a barbie doll!
Mattel ((The brand that makes barbies)) pick a inspiring woman each year from around the globe and this year it happened to be Valerie.
Valerie deserves to have a barbie doll made after her because she has inspired many children and adults. Also is a four-time World champion, four-time World Indoor champion, two-time Olympic, three-time Commonwealth Games champion and twice IAAF Continental Cup winner.
The Barbie doll comes with a shot put and a sports bag.
The Mattel factory head quarters is in El Segundo, California Here is a map of where it is:

Plant sketching
I also wrote a description and Identification in my book. This is what I wrote.
Description:This plant is a light green colour and it has sharp leaves that point upwards. This plant is the king of the forest and it is very common in the NZ bush.
Identification: This plant is called a Rimu and my drawing is only of a few leaves. Rimu is a large tree that grows up to 50m tall. Rimu trees grow very slowly reaching 800-900 years old. Rimu trees have very droopy leaves. The trunks of the Rimu trees are very thick and the bark is a red colour.

My Dog Sunny infomation report
In my class we have been learning how to do information reports. This is my Information report about my dog Sunny I hope you enjoy it!
Do you have a dog?
and emotional at the same time? Well I do.
My dog is called Sunny and he is my first ever dog.
Let me tell you all about him.
ON about it. I went on and on about wanting a dog
for about the whole year by then my mum had said no
but I understood because she isnt a dog person and we
wouldn't have the time for one at her house because we
are always at school and work and also we live next to a
highway so that is very dangerous for a dog BUT my
dad never said no so I kept begging him. I would always
look online like on Trade Me and Facebook for dogs to
potentially adopt and then I found THE ONE. I found
the dog on trade me and it wasn't just one dog it was
actually a bunch of dogs that were the same breed.
Dad took me down the street to his friends house to
look at his dog because is was the same breed of dog
that the dogs were on trade me. When we got there
I really liked the dog and I really wanted one. Soon
after Dad said that we are going to look at the dogs
we saw on trade me so we went on about a 40 minute drive up to were the dogs were. I had a look at them and they were so cute. Dad told me that we were gonna get one and asked me what one I wanted to pick. My eyes lit up and I had a good look at all the dogs. All of the dogs were the same breed and the same age but some were white with black spots and some were white with brown spots. I immediately chose the second smallest dog he was so cute and little he has brown spots. I was so shocked that dad actually let me have a dog well I mean I was quite annoying when I was literally begging for a dog. As soon as we left with the dog I came up with a name and I choose SUNNY! I just thought that name was so perfect for him because the sun would kind of reflect off his brown face and spots. He also looked like he was full of sunshine.
sniffing things out which comes in very handy for
retrieving ducks. Springer spaniels are used in hunting
to retrieve ducks once they have been shot. Sunny is
getting trained to retrieve them and he is doing pretty
well because he can easily find were the duck is.
In his training we have a duck wing and we have to
rub in on the lawn and hide it somewhere then we
let Sunny come and find the wing and it usually only
takes from 15-30 seconds. The bad things about Sunny
Vacuum cleaner which is not good because he needs to
be around a gun and get used to the loud noise and
know when to retrieve the duck. Also another bad thing
is that he needs to learn to be soft with his mouth
while carrying the duck because at the moment he just
thinks its a toy and you wouldn't want bite marks in
your dinner.

Turtle information report
The Green turtle is a big heavy sea turtle. It has a large smooth shell. It lives in the tropics and it swims in the water but they come onto the land as well. They have been around for 110 Million years which is a VERY long time. They were around during the time of the dinosaurs. This turtle species has been on this earth for ages and it has developed many adaptations to protect itself. It has three types of adaptations: behavioural, structural and physiological.
on land except for when they hatch. They stay in
the water but the female turtles have to go
onto the land to lay their eggs. Once the baby
turtles have hatched they scurry along the sand
into the water. Also adult Female green sea turtles
somehow return to the place that they have hatched,
they must really know the area well. Also if a beach is
too cold the turtles have to find another beach that
is warmer and the warmer beach may be very far away.
having flippers to swim and also they help to maintain
the speed which is something they could not live without.
The turtle's neck is non retractable and it can not move
up because of its shell. The turtle also has no teeth
because it doesn't really need them cause it has
SUCH a strong jaw. It looks kind of like a bird's beak.
They also don't need teeth for eating because they
eat crabs, sponges, clams etc. Turtles eyes face
downwards because they swim all the time and it
helps to see the bottom of the water.
be in an environment with the right temperature
because if they are too hot then they can die
inside the egg before they hatch and if they
are too cold then they can incubate correctly.
because they have a thick layer of fat that
attracts heat. Also the leatherback turtle can
lower their heart rate to save energy and oxygen.
to help keep beaches clean and safe for the turtles
and other sea-life.

Kiwi adaptations report writing
and nocturnal. They have many mammal-like adaptations
and that makes then very unique. It is highly unlikely
that you will see one in the wild because it will be sleeping
and all hidden away. Its adaptations are mainly behavioural
and structural.
adaptations such as being nocturnal and being flightless.
The reason kiwis don’t fly is because a long time ago most
of the birds would fly and all of the flying birds would eat
the berries from the trees and they would have to compete
with one another to get the berries. However on the ground
there are not many other birds so there is hardly any
competition for food because the flightless birds eat
food that is under the ground or on top of the soil.
Also kiwis don’t fly because it saves their energy and
kiwis need their energy for other things. Before humans
arrived in NZ there was no predators on the ground anyway
so the Kiwis didn’t need to fly.
habitat such as having nostrils on the start of their beak
to help sniff food from under the ground. Their brown
plumage helps keep them camouflaged with the dirt on
the ground. Their feathers are shaggy and hair like because
it blend in with the environment around them. They also
have whiskers on the start of their beak to help navigate
in the dark because they are nocturnal and they don’t have
very good eyesight. Long claws is another adaptation to dig
up their food that is underground. Another structural
adaptation is their beak. They have such a long beak
because as I said their eyesight is not the best and
they mostly rely on touch and smell with their beak
as they walk. They simply stop to put their beak
on the ground and feel if there are vibrations under
the ground coming from the worms and other bugs
that they are trying to catch and as soon as they
feel a vibration they start to dig. Having nostrils is
kind of hard for kiwis in a way as well as being very
helpful because sometimes they get dirt stuck in their
nostrils and then they make a snorting sound to get it
out as it is uncomfortable.
people have introduced new animals into New Zealand.
Some of them can attack the kiwi. The adaptations of
being flightless and nocturnal are useless because some
of the animals that live in the same habitat have the same
adaptations and eat both the kiwi and their eggs.
over the years. They are flightless because it saves energy
and they don’t have to compete for food like the flying
birds do. They mostly rely on touch and smell because
their eyesight is not very good. They have a long beak to
sense vibrations coming from the worms or bugs underneath
the ground and then they dig it up immediately.
Unfortunately with the arrival of pakeha to
Nz also came many animals that are a predator to
the kiwis. I hope the kiwi can develop more adaptations
before it is too late.
